Max the Baseball Player

What a season!  I can't believe how much growth we have seen in Max's skills this year!

I don't make it to too many of his games - they always seemed to be at the same time as Will's games.  I took him to his last game of the season last night, and it was so fun!

At the game last night he had four solid hits!  He was so excited every time he would get on base.  I'm not as good as Dad at keeping stats, but those four hits added up to at least five RBI's.

Fielding has always been a bit tougher for Max.  Finally one day while playing catch in the backyard Brian figured out that Max's glove was too small.  So Max took over Dad's adult glove and his fielding improved greatly.  He made two amazing outs in the game.  While playing second he caught a grounder hit to him.  He picked it up and tagged the runner for an out.  It was seriously the cutest play ever.  He held the baseball up in the air and yelled 'I did it!"  The ridiculously huge smile didn't leave his face the rest of the game.  Another out was made when he was playing third so he decided it was pretty much the very best baseball game ever.

It's great to see Max really give it his all - especially when it ins't easy for him.  We are so proud of his growth this season and we are looking forward to another season of soccer in the fall!
