Max is now the proud owner of his very own set of ear tubes! We were at St. John's bright and early this morning, about 5am to be exact. His surgery was scheduled for 7am. He was quite the trooper through the the whole ordeal. In fact he seemed pretty excited about it at first! He got to wear these super cute little scrubs. The doctors came in and told us how things would work.
Max got a little baby cocktail of Tylenol and something to make him a bit loopy before they took him from us. He didn't even mind that some strange man was taking him away. Dr. Hardeman, his ENT, was back in the room within 15 minutes to tell us that everything went well. There was quite a bit of fluid behind his right ear, but there was no current infection. 
Max was in the recovery room for another 15 minutes or so. I have to say that waiting for him to come out of recovery was even harder than waiting for his procedure to be done. I stood in the doorway and waited for my little man to wheeled back down the hallway in his little hospital bed. Overall the whole thing was done in about 30 minutes. 
We did have to wait another 30 minutes or so before we were allowed to leave. All in all, things went very well and we look forward to an ear infection free little boy! I wonder if he will walk now?
