97 Days and Counting

until BOTH of our beautiful boys are big brothers!

Tonight Max, Will, and I worked on creating a new baby countdown chain.  Max painstakingly wrote every number from 97-0.  He took his job very seriously.  Will just did whatever he could to cause mischief - you know throwing construction paper, climbing on the table, just typical Will type things.  Each day we will rip off one of our links until we get to meet out new baby on May 6th.  With two c-sections in my history we are headed directly to a scheduled section this go around.

So far things have gone fairly smoothly with the pregnancy.  I'm just over 25 weeks and I'm sad to say that I think the third trimester energy slump has hit a bit early.  I had a bit of energy back for about 6 weeks, but now I'm back to going to bed at the same time as the boys. If this is my biggest complaint I'll take it.  We had the big ultrasound in December and all looked good with baby #3.   I have constant reminders of our baby throughout the day with the wonderful little kicks and punches he/she delivers.  I love it and consider each and every bump as it is a sign that our baby is growing healthy and strong. We can't wait until May for our newest little miracle to arrive - and for the doctor to announce boy or girl - so that our family of four will grow to a family of five.

I'll say it yet again, how did I ever get so lucky?!

Feeding the Dog

one nugget at a time.  This is one of Will's new favorite past times.  He just goes back and forth between the pantry and her bowl (and everyone's pantry looks like this too, right?).  Sometimes stopping along the way to try to taste the food himself.  I am usually able to catch him and I think at this point he just pretends to taste it so I react.

I'm just grateful we have such a laid back dog that gently takes food from the boys and let them lay all over her and give her hugs.  It is adorable.

Calendar Guy

One of our good family friends bought us a membership for the zoo for Christmas.  A perk of the membership is a really nice calendar.  Max was so excited when it arrived - although he doesn't look to thrilled int he picture.  He immediately opened it up and we started writing down all kinds of important days.  His job everyday is to cross of the day.  He takes it very seriously.

It has gotten to the point where if something isn't on the calendar it doesn't exist.  I tried to clip his fingernails the other night, which he hates, and he told me we couldn't because it wasn't on the calendar.  We wrote it down for the next day and he willing let me clip away.  He is beginning to write things on the calendar himself too.  Baby Jesus means we can finally put the nativity away for the year.  I told him it had to be put away in January so he picked the very last day possible.  Too funny.

Family Pictures

I'm not thrilled with them.  We are working on being budget conscious in our household, so I tried to find a deal on family pictures.  I found someone on groupon - $59 for an hour long, in home session with up to 30 images.  Sounds too good to true, doesn't it?  Well it kinda was.  In her defense Will was crazy cranky and Max no longer gives a genuine looking smile on command.

Long story short I don't think I would recommend her, but we did get a few decent shots.

The Train Show

What a fun weekend.  Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day - especially for January.  We spent an hour and a half at the park.  Will climbed on everything and Max even helped him down the really, really big bumpy slide.  I don't know whose smile was bigger on the way down, Max's or Will's.  It was adorable.

Today the weather was much more Januaryish - it was freezing.  We were looking for something fun to do and stumbled across the Train Show downtown at the convention center.  Max was so excited he couldn't stay still.  I think this exihibt was his favorite - all of the trains were from the Island of Sodor, you know Thomas's home town.  It doesn't get much better than that when you are four.

All three of boys enjoyed a moment sitting down watching this multi track system.  I swear they had more fun than it looks like in this picture.  I didn't want to take the big camera, so I just had to settle for the camera on my phone.  It really was a great weekend, I will need to be on the lookout for more fun family events to get us through the rest of the winter.  Spring can't get here soon enough!
