Grand Day

William's new school celebrated Grandparents Day in style!  Grandma, Grandpa, Nonno, and Nonna were all able to attend.  They attended a dyslexia simulation to learn a bit more and joined William for lunch.  He even gave them a tour of the school.  Everyone had a great time - and learned a lot too!

Jack's Halloween Party

I was able to help out at Jack's class party on Halloween.  It was so much fun!

The kids made a mummy version of themselves - which turned out adorable.  Next, they turned their teacher and friends into mummies too.

I think it's safe to say this guy had a good time - I know I did!

St. Isaac

Every year at PSR the third graders dress up as a saint for the All Saints mass.  William chose St. Isaac.  He sure looked cute in that beard!  He can tell you all about how St. Isaac came to the United States in the 1600's from France to teach Native Americans about Jesus.

Nonna and Nonno were even able to join us for mass!

Braces!

Max was pretty excited about his new gear.  I just can't believe how old he is!!

Tiger's Hike

Jack and his Tiger friends learned about local birds from a real expert - one of the boys' moms was a bird expert at the zoo for years!

After knowing what to look and listen for, we headed out to hike.  It was steep but the boys did great!  They were rewarded with a pretty amazing view at the top.

Once we were back on level ground we made bird feeders out of milk cartons.  Jack was super excited that the birds found his feeder and enjoyed their feast.

Wolf in Action

Will has been one busy wolf scout!  He has been working hard at his den meetings.
After a hike the kids practiced their knife skills to whittle sticks so they were sharp.  They used the sticks as stakes to create a shelter.

To celebrate Veterans day the boys visited Sgt Strickland.  He lots his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan.  The boys delivered dinner ot his family and even performed some pretty cool tricks as entertainment. They perfected that pyramid and human ladder - that is William at the top of the ladder!

It was an amazing experience.  Sgt. Strickland was amazing with the boys.  He explained what happened to him and how he had learned to deal with his situation in a positive way.  The boys took away a valuable message of facing adversity with a positive attitude.

Merit Badges

At the fall Court of Honor our boy scout was awarded with three merit badges he had earned - Chess, Engineering, and Orienteering.  Way to go Max!
