All Clear, let him cry

That's right, that is what the doctor told Sarah on Monday. His ear infection has cleared up and the crying every night was his way of getting our attention. The Dr suggested letting him cry it out and Monday night he cried for almost an hour before he gave up. I handled it fine, but Sarah felt bad about it. She thought that he might not love her anymore if she didn't come running into his room everytime he cried. However, she stayed strong and didn't go in. Last night was a little better, he cried for only a little bit so hopefully we are on our way to peaceful nights again.

11 Months Old

And still sick:( My poor little man. He is pretty much over his cold, but now his is fighting an awful ear infection. It has been almost a week of awful nights. I took Max to urgent care last Sunday thinking something was up, and sure enough, both ears were infected. They gave us an antibiotic and I thought we were on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, that was not the case. He still didn't seem much better on Thursday, so I took him in to see Dr. Spewak. Now are now about 48 hours into a new antibiotic and crossing our fingers that tonight will be a better night. Although I have been saying that every night for the last week. . .

He did pose for a few pictures tonight. He loves his music table and of course he is always up for a picture with the cat. I love that this picture shows all three of the ‘men’ in our family. They couldn’t be any cuter! He even gave a big smile for this pictures with mommy.

I can't believe that this time next month I will be the mother of a one year old. It has gone so quickly! We even set up our appointment for his one-year pictures. I just love getting to know our little man more and more each day. He is becoming more and more independent each day. He loves feeding himself and he is a huge fan of pasta. It is funny to watch him eat because he just keeps shoving food into his mouth until he can fit any more. It can be scary at times, so I try to limit him to just a few bights at a time.

He has discovered that the TV is fun to watch, in this picture it happens to be My Cousin Vinney. We are constantly trying to distract him to get him away from it, unfortunately the only things that work to distract him are other things he shouldn’t have – like the phone and remote control. He is a true boy through and through.

Just a cold?

Poor Max. As I sit hear typing I can hear his awful cough from his room. He has a cold, at least that is all the doctor says it is. It sures seems like more than just a regular old cold to me! He woke up on Sunday morning a bit under the weather and just got worse as the day wore on. I was hoping he would be better yesterday, but when I went in to get him ready in the morning he just looked at me and began to sob. My poor baby boy was just so miserable! I stayed home from work and took him to the doctor, he diagnosed him with a cold. He was a little bit better this morning, so it was off to daycare.

When I picked Max up this afternoon he just looked so pitiful! Since he can't really breath through his nose, he didn't have much formula at the sitters. I brought him home to nurse and he perked up a bit. We were even able to go sit on the grass in the front yard for a few mintues and enjoy the weather. It was beautiful!

On a side note, we just bought Max's first plane ticket last week! We are heading out to San Fransico for a little fun and then driving over to San Jose for our newest nephews baptism. We can't wait to meet Sean! We do have to admit that we are a little worried about keeping Max entertained on the plane ride, at least it is a direct flight! Does anyone have any suggestions?
